The group leader is Prof. Guan. He is the chief professor of Wuhan University of Technology and the Changjiang Scholar Distinguished Professor of Ministry of Education of China (MOE). The group currently has 11 teachers and more than 40 Ph.D students and Master students.

In recent years, the group has conducted or participated nearly 100 national and provincial projects. Prof. Guan has published more than 310 peer-reviewed papers in prestigious journals such as Chem. Soc. Rev., Adv. Mater., Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., Nano. Lett., Adv. Funct. Mater., ACS Nano and Biotechnol. Adv. with over 6000 citations. The group has been authorized 40 national invention patents . The group has received 9 national or provincial science and technology awards. Thus far, Prof. Guan’s group has cultivated more than 128 graduate students and post doctorates.
